The KAUST Biostatistics Group develops novel statistical methods and models for biological processes with complex dependence structures. Our research spans a number of areas with statistics: time series analysis, spectral analysis, functional data analysis, computational statistics, Bayesian models and data visualization. 
We collaborate with neuroscientists on developing models to help understand brain function (in particular, brain connectivity) and how these may be altered by diseases. 
We collaborate with medical researchers to identify clinical and physiological biomarkers of diseases and to measure the impact of interventions on healthcare outcomes. ​
